What is 'French bakelite' ?
'French bakelite' is a resin of a high quality, still used nowadays by the most famous designers around the world. 'French bakelite' is a phrase used by jewelry collectors because this plastic looks like Bakelite in most respects, but it doesn't pass the tests that are used for old 'American type' bakelite. Galalith -an old plastic- is also called 'French bakelite'.
